Amazon product labels

Use the Amazon labels templates for product or unit-label artwork with your own identifier, product name and condition. They contain no sample barcode or watermark. BarcodeStack does not issue an FNSKU or certify a shipment.

An ASIN identifies a product in Amazon’s catalog. An FNSKU identifies inventory in Amazon’s fulfillment system. A merchant SKU is your own inventory reference. Use the identifier required for the exact listing in Seller Central; entering an ASIN here does not convert it into an FNSKU.

For FBA carton, pallet or carrier labels, use the files generated for that shipment. BarcodeStack currently cannot import Amazon PDF or ZPL label files. A product template does not create a box identity or postage.

Check Amazon’s current barcode instructions and your shipment’s requirements before printing.

Open Templates, choose Amazon labels, and select the stock you actually have. Dimensions below are width × height.

Template Dimensions Use
Wide product label 3 × 1 in / 76.2 × 25.4 mm More horizontal room for the identifier and product name
Compact product label 2 × 1 in / 50.8 × 25.4 mm Shorter product information
Taller compact label 2¼ × 1¼ in / 57.15 × 31.75 mm More height for product information
Letter 30-up 2⅝ × 1 in per label A matching US Letter sheet in a laser printer

These layouts use the size range described in Amazon’s published product-label guidance. That guidance calls for black print on white, non-reflective stock with removable adhesive. A matching size alone does not establish that the material or shipment is acceptable.

  1. Copy the Amazon identifier from your Seller Central label or listing instructions. Do not use another seller’s code or substitute your own merchant SKU.
  2. Enter the corresponding product name and condition. Check the item and variation carefully.
  3. Open the label in the editor. Check the entire barcode, readable identifier and text; choose a larger label if anything does not fit.
  4. Set Printer DPI to the printer’s actual resolution. Keep the black-and-white barcode area clear of other artwork.

Amazon’s published guidance recommends 300 DPI or higher and supports thermal or laser printers, excluding inkjet. Verify the current requirement for your marketplace. A 203 DPI printer remains a 203 DPI printer: selecting 300 in the editor changes scale rather than improving its printhead. See print quality and DPI.

For a compatible Zebra, use Print and select the correct direct printer. For a laser sheet, export PDF and print at 100% / Actual size. Follow Mac-to-Zebra setup if this is a new computer.

Check the physical dimensions, clear margins and readable text. Scan the first printed barcode and compare its value with Seller Central. Check it again after applying the label and any required packaging. A successful scan does not by itself establish Amazon acceptance.

Amazon changed barcode eligibility for inventory shipped from March 31, 2026. Resellers need Amazon barcode stickers even when a manufacturer barcode exists. Qualifying brand owners with the Brand Representative role can use existing manufacturer barcodes; products without manufacturer barcodes still need Amazon stickers. See Amazon’s announcement and your listing’s current instructions.
