Getting started
BarcodeStack runs entirely in your browser — nothing to install, no account needed. This page takes you from a blank label to a printed one.
1. Pick your label size
Section titled “1. Pick your label size”Open the editor and click the size button in the top bar. The
catalog holds 148 sizes across DYMO, Zebra/Rollo, Brother, MUNBYN and Avery
sheets — search by product code (e.g. 30252, DK-1201, 5160) or browse by
printer family. If your stock isn’t listed, Custom size takes any
dimensions in inches or millimeters, with a DPI selector to match your
printer (most thermal printers are 203 DPI).
The canvas is built at your printer’s exact dot resolution — a 4×6” thermal label is a true 812 × 1218 dot surface, so what you design is what prints.
2. Add content
Section titled “2. Add content”The toolbar (left on desktop, bottom on phones) adds:
- Text — 50+ fonts, line height, letter spacing, and fit modes that shrink text to its box automatically.
- Barcodes — 12 symbologies (Code 128, EAN-13, UPC-A, Code 39, ITF-14, Codabar, MSI and more) with live validation. Barcodes snap to whole printer dots, so they always scan.
- QR codes — URL, WiFi login, vCard, email, phone, SMS, or location, with selectable error correction.
- Shapes, images, tables — 22 shapes, logo upload, and grid tables with editable cells.
3. Print
Section titled “3. Print”Three ways, from most to least direct:
- Direct print (Zebra printers): Export → Direct print — Zebra agent sends raw ZPL straight to the printer. Setup takes two minutes.
- ZPL file: Export → ZPL downloads a
.zplyou can send to any ZPL-speaking printer (lp -o raw, port 9100, or Zebra Setup Utilities). - PDF: Export → PDF gives an exact-size file for any printer’s normal print dialog. Always print at 100% scale — never “fit to page”.
Print one label and test-scan any barcode before a production run.
