Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 26, 2026 · BarcodeStack (barcodestack.com)

1. Overview

This policy explains what information BarcodeStack (“we”, “us”) collects when you use barcodestack.com and the label design tools on it, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: your label designs stay in your browser unless you save them to a cloud account, the free tier is supported by advertising, and we collect as little as we can to run the site.

2. Information we collect

  • Label designs (free tier). Designs you create in the editor are processed entirely in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers. Auto-saved work is kept in your browser’s local storage on your device.
  • Saved templates (accounts). When cloud saving launches, templates and uploaded assets you choose to save will be stored on our infrastructure (Cloudflare D1 and R2) and linked to your account.
  • Account information. If you create an account, our authentication provider (Auth0) processes your email address, name, and login credentials or social login identifiers on our behalf. We never see or store your password.
  • Technical & log data. Our host (Cloudflare) processes IP addresses, user-agent strings, and request metadata to serve the site, prevent abuse, and give us aggregate performance and error metrics.
  • Payment information (future paid plans). Payments will be handled by a payment processor; we will not store card numbers ourselves.

3. Cookies, local storage & advertising

  • Essential storage. We use cookies and similar technologies needed for the site to function (for example, keeping you signed in once accounts launch).
  • Local storage. The editor uses your browser’s local storage to auto-save work-in-progress on your device. Clearing your browser data deletes it.
  • Advertising. The free tier is advertising-supported. When ads go live, third-party advertising partners (such as Google AdSense) may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, which may include personalized ads. Where required (for example, in the EEA/UK and certain US states), you will be shown a consent tool before any advertising cookies are set, and you can opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info.

4. How we use information

  • to provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • to operate accounts and (in the future) process subscriptions;
  • to secure the Service and prevent fraud and abuse;
  • to display and measure advertising on the free tier;
  • to respond when you contact us.

We do not use the contents of your label designs for advertising.

5. How we share information

We share information only with service providers acting on our behalf (Cloudflare for hosting/storage, Auth0 for authentication, ad partners for the free tier, a payment processor for paid plans), when required by law, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell your personal information. Depending on your state’s legal definitions, third-party advertising cookies may constitute “sharing” — the consent/opt-out tools in Section 3 are how you decline that.

6. Data retention

Local-storage designs live on your device until you clear them. Account data and saved templates are kept while your account is active and deleted within a reasonable period after account deletion. Server logs are retained briefly for security and operations.

7. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live (GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Email support@barcodestack.com and we will honor applicable requests. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International visitors

We are based in the United States and use a global content delivery network. By using the Service you understand your information may be processed in the US and other countries, which may have different data protection laws than yours.

10. Security

Traffic is encrypted with TLS, authentication is delegated to Auth0, and infrastructure access is restricted. No system is perfectly secure — keep a copy of designs that matter.

11. Changes

We will update this policy as the Service evolves (for example, when advertising, accounts, or paid plans go live) and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be signposted on the site.
