1. General

BarcodeStack’s tools, templates, and content are provided for general use, “as is”, without warranties of any kind. This page highlights the limitations that matter most for a barcode and label service; it supplements our Terms of Service.

2. Barcode generation is not barcode licensing

  • BarcodeStack converts data you enter into barcode graphics (UPC-A, EAN-13, Code 128, Code 39, QR, and others). It does not issue, register, validate ownership of, or license any number.
  • Legitimate UPC/EAN company prefixes and GTINs come only from GS1 member organizations (such as GS1 US). Retailers and marketplaces routinely reject or delist products with unlicensed or reused numbers.
  • Encoding a number here does not make it valid, unique, or yours. Verify your numbering with GS1 and your retailer or marketplace before printing product barcodes.

3. Scan reliability & print quality

  • Whether a printed barcode scans depends on printer resolution and calibration, media quality, ink/thermal darkness, quiet zones, contrast, size, and the scanner reading it — all outside our control.
  • Direct thermal labels fade with heat, sunlight, and abrasion and are unsuitable for long-life labeling.
  • Always test-scan a printed sample — ideally with a barcode verifier — before running a batch, shipping product, or sending inventory to a fulfillment center. We are not responsible for unscannable, misread, or rejected labels.

4. Shipping carriers & postage

  • BarcodeStack is not affiliated with UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL, or any carrier. Our “4 × 6 shipping label” templates match common label dimensions only.
  • Labels designed here are not postage and carry no shipping value. Official shipping labels and postage must be purchased from a carrier or licensed postage provider. Printing a look-alike carrier label for actual shipping — or anything intended to deceive a carrier — is prohibited and may be a crime.

5. Label sheet & printer compatibility

Sheet layouts (such as Avery® 5160/5163) and thermal sizes are implemented from published specifications, but manufacturers change stock and printers feed imperfectly. Print a test page on plain paper and hold it against your label stock before printing on real sheets. We are not responsible for misaligned prints or wasted stock.

6. Trademarks

Avery® is a registered trademark of Avery Products Corporation. UPS®, FedEx®, USPS®, Zebra®, Rollo®, DYMO®, Amazon®, and Shopify® are trademarks of their respective owners. BarcodeStack uses these names only to describe compatibility (for example, “fits Avery 5160 sheets”) and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any of these companies.

7. Advertising & external links

The free tier displays third-party advertisements, and pages may link to external sites. An ad or link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for third-party content, products, or practices.

8. No professional advice

Nothing on BarcodeStack is legal, regulatory, or compliance advice. Product labeling obligations (consumer goods, food, pharmaceuticals, hazardous materials, medical device UDI, and others) vary by product and jurisdiction — consult a qualified professional for your situation.
